These images are all taken by myself using a disposable and SLR camera in various locations on recent holidays. Travel inspires my art and illustration work which is one reason i chose to use holiday photographs.

This photograph is interesting to me as i love the deep blue sky and the contrasting beige and terracotta houses. The birds in the sky are an added bonus and complete this photograph.
These four photos were taken in Havana, Cuba, last year. The first three with a disposable and the last with my SLR. I love the grainy quality of the outcome when using a disposable.
I love the bright orange and browns in this photograph below.
The young boy playing in the street gives you a sense of the life people live in Cuba, unlike the children here in England constantly using iPads and iPhones for entertainment.
The cuban local’s were all so chilled out, and i think this photograph captures that perfectly.
I have a weakness for tiles, doorways and windows. I found The Hassan II Mosque mesmerising; both the exterior and interior. Everything was escalated from the door frames and the rooms sizes to the bathrooms. The silhouettes of the people inside the mosque show you the extreme scale.

I placed these two disposable photos together taken in the Forbidden City in Beijing. I think the top image is really interesting as it shows how hectic and populated China is in general.

The vibrant reds and greens in this photograph relate to traditional Chinese colours. The little boy in the corner started to laugh as he sees the camera, and his mum pulls him out of the way of the photograph. I’m glad i caught him in the shot as it adds more energy to the photo.

This photograph was one i took in Parc Guell, my favourite place in Barcelona! I’m a little obsessed with tiles and mosaics, i find the patterns and colours fascinating in this particular image. I could have stayed on that bench for hours and hours to examine the patterns.
